New Year's holidays in the Arctic Circle
From December 28 to January 2, the New Year Family Program was held in the Arctic Circle!
Together with our guests, we said goodbye 2020 and saw the New Year in! During the program we went by snowmobile on excursions, went dog sledding, visited popular science lectures from Dr. Mikhail Safonov and enjoyed the northern Karelian winter.
On New Year's Eve, there was a couple of true miracles: the Small Epishkin island transformed and a New Year's Fair appeared there — with fun contests, an elegant Christmas tree and even an improvised Clock Tower that chimed right in the midnight!
By tradition, ice divers celebrated New Year's Eve under the ice, where a special Christmas tree was set for this purpose. And after a while, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden came to house No. 1 on a sleigh pulled by reindeer!
