New Year Holidays at «The Arctic Circle»
There were really fun and snowy New Year’s Holidays at «The Arctic Circle»!
Frankly speaking, our guests didn’t experience true Karelian Winter coldness: first it grew «warmer» up to –15ºC, then even to –5ºC and for the rest of the time it didn’t get colder. And in the New Year’s Eve both temperature and the atmosphere were the warmest in these 6 days.
We had our New Year party right on the ice of White Sea and the first moment of the year 2018 was announced by the ship bell. Then the party moved to the shore, where the Christmas tree, warm bonfire, Bengal lights and our northern sled dogs — the symbol of coming year — were waiting for us.
During these New Year Holidays all our tourists’ wishes came true: ice divers had an underwater party with their own Christmas tree, sports lovers went skiing in beautiful Karelian forest and everyone got a lot of fun from many leisure activities. Our guests did dog sledding, went to snowmobile trips, rode on a toboggan and even on a sleigh pulled by reindeer!
Also we had some interesting lectures about geology and biology of the Russian North, cooking classes and of course ice fishing. Some of our guests even changed their train tickets to stay a little longer!
We were very glad to meet new friends and see old ones. Thank you all for the wonderful holidays. We are waiting for you again!
